Know Your Numbers With Routine Blood Tests.

Five lab tests you need when "normal" isn't enough.

Studies show that patients who have an understanding of their lab and bloodwork levels are often more empowered, confident and proactive in managing their health, directly contributing to more successful and graceful aging.

Routine bloodwork gives providers a current snapshot of the patient’s internal health. It isn't just a diagnostic tool for when a patient feels off, it’s a powerful roadmap for sustainable health while aging. Discovering hormone levels and identifying nutritional gaps can be the difference between reactive medicine and preventative therapy.

If you’re approaching your 40s or older, it's time to stop guessing and start testing.

Vitamin B12

Optimal B12 levels are non-negotiable for healthy aging. This essential nutrient is a powerhouse behind physical, mental and neurological balance. If these levels are low, no amount of caffeine will fix the afternoon slump.

Possible signs of low B12:

  • Fatigue & lack of energy

  • Depression & irritability

  • Memory Issues

  • Numbness or tingling in hands and feet

Testosterone

Testosterone is a vital hormone for both men and women that helps maintain bone density, builds muscle mass, regulates libido and plays a key role in energy and mood levels. Levels naturally decrease with age, creating a domino-effect of symptoms that leave an individual feeling “stuck” in an aging body. Testosterone replacement is often reviewed as the therapy that revitalizes youth in patients- a key to feeling balanced once again.

Possible signs of low testosterone

  • Low energy and interrupted sleep

  • Decreased muscle mass

  • Weight gain

  • Low mood and cognitive issues

  • Low libido

Thyroid

The thyroid governs everything from  body temperature to heart rate and metabolism. As we age, thyroid disorders—particularly hypothyroidism—become significantly more common. Discovering current thyroid levels is critical since its symptoms almost perfectly mimic aging and menopause/andropause.

Possible signs of a thyroid imbalance:

  • Weight gain

  • Thinning hair

  • Cold intolerance

  • Dry skin

  • Fatigue and depression

Progesterone and Estradiol

Women who have noticed unexplainable fatigue, irritability, or a sudden change in how their body distributes weight, can very likely be experiencing a hormonal shift. Progesterone and estradiol decrease significantly when women reach menopause, accelerating aging effects like osteoporosis, skin thinning and cognitive changes.

Possible signs of low progesterone and estradiol:

  • Hot flashes

  • Weight gain

  • Insomnia

  • Low libido

  • Mood swings

Metabolic Numbers

A comprehensive metabolic workup can measure blood sugar, cholesterol, triglycerides and liver/kidney function. Metabolic numbers that indicate a possible need for medical intervention could help manage insulin resistance, reduce cardiovascular risk, lower inflammation, and aid in weight loss.

Possible signs of poor metabolic health:

  • Persistent fatigue

  • Stubborn weight gain

  • Frequent hunger/sugar cravings

  • Brain fog

If you don't test, you won't know which one you're fighting.

At Biomed, we don't believe in "normal" ranges—we believe in optimal ranges. A standard lab might say you are "fine" because you fall within a broad statistical average, but we look for the levels that allow you to thrive.

Routine bloodwork every 6–12 months starting at age 40 provides a "biological diary." By comparing your results year-over-year, we can spot trends and intervene with precision, helping you define aging with vitality, not prescriptions.

Healthy aging happens below the surface. Take the guesswork out of your health and make routine screening a priority.
